How do I say this best…
You don’t. 🙂
You let your Band Members find you.
By the way, what I will say next will only be relevant if you want to be in a band with successful and reliable people who want to go the distance with you.
If you just want some buddies to jam with and drink beers…
Go to a bar and start asking around.
However, if you want to storm the stages of the world, keep reading.
If you want to find the right people you have to attract them by first of all BEING the right person.
That means having your sh… together and putting effort into things and doing them with a professional attitude.
You have to signal that to the world so they take you seriously.
Professional photos, recordings, appearance, website.
Yes, work ethic is part of that.
If you think anyone is handing anything to you just because you exist, you are in for a rude awakening.
It starts with you.
So, what to do?
I would suggest, you do as much as you can on your own and see how far you get.
You might find a partner that you can work together with but if you are really serious, be prepared that not everyone will be there down the road.
In fact, the dream to start in your garage with 3 friends and stay together forever is a rarity and a romanticized fantasy usually.
It is more common that you find a team to start with and eventually end up replacing the ones that just don’t have what it takes, with better, more suitable people.
Once you have put yourself out there and people start to notice you, it will be much easier to find people because you simply created a desire to be a part of you and what you do.
Then you can start working as a team.
That means:
Learn to write your music, record it, make it sound good, publish it and never stop.
Start networking.
Find groups on social media to join and throw your stuff around.
Connect with people that seem successful.
Try to learn from them as much as you can and see if you can bring them any value.
